Sense of Place Retreat Recap: Three Days of Connection, Creativity, and Inspiration in Los Cabos

There is something powerful about stepping away from the pace of everyday work to reconnect with why you started in the first place.

That was the heart behind the first Sense of Place Retreat.

Hosted by L'Relyea Events and Wild Sol Travel Co., our three day retreat at Viceroy Los Cabos welcomed an intimate group of wedding planners, photographers, travel advisors, and creative entrepreneurs for an experience centered around hospitality, connection, beautiful design, and shared inspiration.

We wanted this retreat to feel less like a conference and more like being the guest at an unforgettable event.

Why We Created Sense of Place

As creative business owners, we spend our careers designing meaningful experiences for other people. We wanted to create an experience where the people behind those celebrations could be cared for in the same way.

Sense of Place was built around the idea that inspiration comes from slowing down, experiencing exceptional hospitality, discovering new places, and sharing conversations with people who understand your journey.

There were no rushed schedules or transactional networking events. Instead, the retreat unfolded naturally through shared meals, thoughtful experiences, and time together.

A Destination That Inspired Every Detail

Our home for the retreat was Viceroy Los Cabos, where striking architecture, thoughtful design, and incredible hospitality set the tone for the days ahead.

Throughout the retreat we explored some of Los Cabos' most beautiful destinations, each selected because it offered something unique to experience and learn from.

Our itinerary included lunch at Acre Resort, an afternoon at Flora Farms, sailing along the Sea of Cortez, beautifully designed dinners, and plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy being present.

Each experience reminded us that great hospitality is about how a place makes you feel.

More Than Networking

One of the biggest takeaways from the retreat wasn't found on the itinerary.

It was the relationships.

Some attendees arrived knowing no one. By the end of the retreat they were leaving with new friendships, future collaborations, trusted referral partners, and a community they could continue to lean on long after returning home.

The conversations happened over coffee, around dinner tables, during sunset walks, and while sailing together.

Those are the moments that can't be scheduled, but often become the most valuable.

What You Can Expect at a Sense of Place Retreat

Every retreat is thoughtfully curated, but the experience always begins with the same intention: creating a space where you feel inspired, welcomed, and cared for.

You can expect beautiful luxury destinations that encourage creativity, exceptional accommodations, and the feeling of attending an event where every detail has been considered from the guest's perspective.

Throughout the retreat, we'll gather for intimate mini masterminds, honest conversations about business and creativity, and opportunities to learn from one another in a relaxed environment. There is space for collaboration, quiet reflection, incredible meals, and experiences that remind you why hospitality matters.

You'll leave with new friends, fresh ideas, renewed inspiration, and the confidence to take your next step, whatever that looks like for you.

Looking Ahead

The first Sense of Place Retreat reminded us that the best ideas often come when we create space for them.

It reinforced the importance of slowing down, investing in relationships, and experiencing places that inspire new ways of thinking.

We're already planning what's next, and we can't wait to welcome another group of creatives to the table.

If you've been craving meaningful connection, beautiful experiences, and a retreat that feels both inspiring and restorative, we'd love to have you join us.
