Effortless Romance at Beltane Ranch: A Summer Wedding in Sonoma
When Allison Hoffmann and Alex Huckstepp first reached out to us at L. Relyea Events, they had a beautifully simple vision: a wedding that felt effortless, romantic, and—above all—fun. As a boutique wedding planning studio rooted in relaxed luxury, we knew we could bring their dream day to life with intention, ease, and plenty of personal touches.
We began their wedding journey with a day of venue scouting in Sonoma, exploring some of our favorite wine country locations. After visiting several stunning properties, we had time for one final stop—a spot I had a feeling they’d love. The moment we arrived at Beltane Ranch in Glen Ellen, we all felt it: this was the one. The breathtaking views, the historic charm, the warm California light—it had everything we needed to create something unforgettable.
Why Beltane Ranch Was the Perfect Venue
Beltane Ranch offers everything we adore in a Sonoma wedding venue: sweeping vineyard views, a picturesque on-site inn, and that quintessential laid-back California energy that feels both timeless and elevated. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and celebrate in a way that feels authentic.
With a setting this naturally stunning, our job was to bring in personal details that made the day feel like Allison and Alex—easygoing, stylish, and full of heart.
A Love Story You’ll Want to Toast To
These two have the kind of story you’d expect from a rom-com: pizza, beer, and IKEA furniture assembly were the backdrop to their very first meeting. Fast forward nearly a decade, and they were ready to tie the knot surrounded by their closest family and friends.
From the start, they told us: “We want this day to feel easy and fun.” So that’s exactly what we delivered—from vintage truck welcome cocktails to a lively oyster bar from Hog Island Oysters during cocktail hour. Every detail was infused with their personalities and love for good food, good people, and good times.
A Ceremony with Heart and Heritage
The ceremony took place under a century-old oak tree, one of Beltane Ranch’s most iconic features. We kept the design clean and organic, letting the landscape shine. Soft white draping added a subtle sense of elegance, and whimsical paper flower garlands lined the aisle for a touch of playfulness.
Allison’s stepfather officiated the ceremony, sharing heartfelt stories that had the entire crowd laughing—and crying. It was the kind of moment we love most: deeply personal, emotionally rich, and truly one-of-a-kind.
Relaxed Fashion Meets California Summer
Allison looked absolutely radiant in her Alexandra Grecco gown—a 100% silk crepe design that moved effortlessly in the summer breeze. She completed her look with diamond cuff earrings, a delicate lace veil, and yes, Valentino heels—because it is a wedding, after all.
Alex embraced the all-white theme in his own way, wearing a crisp Ralph Lauren linen jacket, paired with khakis for that perfect California summer look. Their wedding party followed suit in light, breathable fabrics—ideal for a warm Sonoma evening and just right for dancing under the stars.
From Ceremony to Celebration: A Reception to Remember
After their heartfelt "I dos," guests were greeted with seasonal cocktails and oysters under the trees. We kept the cocktail hour light, festive, and social—with umbrellas for shade and little nooks for mingling throughout the garden.
Dinner was an al fresco affair beneath twinkle lights and the branches of those same majestic oaks. We designed the reception with soft, gauzy linens, low floral arrangements in neutral tones, and long tables that encouraged connection and conversation.
The menu, curated to reflect the couple’s love for comforting yet elevated cuisine, featured:
Roasted bistro filet
Pan-seared salmon
Truffled white cheddar orecchiette
Instead of a traditional cake, guests enjoyed a pie and ice cream bar, featuring flavors like s’mores and Mississippi mud pie—a playful, nostalgic end to the meal that everyone adored.
A Night of Dancing and Connection
As the sun set over the vineyards, the dance floor came alive thanks to a high-energy live band. One of the most touching moments? A toast from Allison’s brother that incorporated a German family tradition of toasting before meals. It brought a sense of unity and joy that carried through the rest of the night.
From the first look to the final dance, Allison and Alex’s wedding at Beltane Ranch was a perfect example of what we at L. Relyea Events love most: creating spaces where people can connect, celebrate, and truly feel the love.
It was a joy to plan, and we’re proud to share that this celebration has been featured on Brides—a testament to the beauty and intentionality of the day.

Jessica + Alex Featured on Style Me Pretty
Inspired by the rolling hills and lush landscape of St Francis Winery, we worked with Jessica and Alex to design a wedding celebration that would incorporate soft textures and lush floral displays. Hawthorn Flower Studio helped us achieve this incredible look through the use of moody mauve tones, loosely structured centerpieces, and flowing greenery over the arbors that displayed the seating charts.
Jessica and Alex’s wedding day was one of the highlights of our 2019 season and we are so excited to see them featured on Style Me Pretty! Keep reading for a snippet of what they had to say!

Christy + Alex Featured on Style Me Pretty
We recently shared Christy + Alex’s Annadel Estate Winery wedding on the L’Relyea Events blog, highlighting the unique decor details such as the floral tree installation that served as the ceremony backdrop and the sophisticated pop of black throughout the reception held in the estate’s beautiful ruins. We are now thrilled to see this wedding that we lovingly designed for Christy + Alex has been shared on Style Me Pretty!
“For childhood friends turned sweethearts, a mix of soft draping, blush tones and greenery set the tone for their Annadel Estate Winery wedding! L'Relyea Events put together the perfect day filled with a ceremony under a massive, beautiful tree and a golden retriever escort card display, where guests were instructed to "fetch" their seats! Rachel + Brian Featured on Carats and Cake
As seen featured recently on Carats and Cake, Rachel and Brian’s gorgeous wedding at Solage Calistoga had an effortless beauty to it that we loved designing for our sweet couple!
Our initial design inspirations involved tons of images of loose textured florals, sophisticated tabletop details, and the use of lush greenery throughout. With the help of the incredibly talented team of vendors we assembled, the end result for Rachel and Brian’s wedding is still one of our favorites to date!
The two said ‘‘I do” on the lush outdoor lawn at Solage Resort where the venues beautiful green landscape provided us the perfect palette to draw inspiration from. Hawthorn Flower Studio designed a chuppah for the focal point of the ceremony using natural elements for the frame of the structure and covered it with loose rich greenery and florals in tones of white and deep burgundy. Rachel embodied timeless beauty as she walked down the aisle in her Mira Zwillinger gown to exchange vows with Brian.
The celebration continued with an indoor reception where guests would celebrate the newlyweds and enjoy an incredible menu and perfectly paired wines. Just as we had envisioned in the original concepts, the reception tablescapes were minimalistic yet sophisticated with their loose textured floral centerpieces and a pop of black by way of the beautiful chairs used. To distinguish the head table, we worked with Hawthorn Flower Studio and Got Light on a truly romantic lighting installation over the rectangular table. The installation included Edison bulbs hanging from varying lengths accompanied by leafy greens and white florals. With the candles lit and the Edison bulbs on, the ambiance was really something special!

“After saying their ‘I dos”’ at St. Francis Solano Church, Lauren and Dell invited their closest family and friends to a European tea party-inspired reception at Boot Hill at the Kunde Family Winery. The couple envisioned a classic and simple setting to highlight Sonoma’s natural beauty. The day’s elegant details included delicate, floral stationery from Bianca at Studio Luzance, hand-dyed silk ribbon and twinkling lights strung from 100+ year old oaks. Lush blooms and garlands hugged the wooden sweetheart table under the arch of an oak tree. The bridal party signed a special bottle of Kunde’s Moon Mountain District wine to be opened on the couple’s 10th anniversary. “ - California Wedding Day

Olga + Michael Featured in Real Weddings Magazine
Completed in 1903, the beautiful and historic Hellman-Ehrman Mansion on Lake Tahoe (Tahoma, Ca) served as the stunning backdrop for Olga and Michael’s wedding last August which we had the pleasure of being part of. The lakeside ceremony and intimate reception on the lawn created an unforgettable day for our bride and groom and we are so excited to see their wedding featured in print in Real Weddings Magazine!
The long-awaited day started with Olga and Michael getting reach with their closet friends and parents in nearby rental homes where they sipped champagne, listened to music, and prepped for the big moment leading up. Once onsite, the groomsmen got to hang on the mansion terrace and enjoy the view with beers in hand while the ladies put their finishing touches on their look for the day while tucked away in the bridal cottage. Guests arrived and enjoyed the lake front view with refreshments and gathered hand-made ribbon wands to usher the couple down the aisle following their ‘I Do’s. The bride was escorted by her mom down the aisle to see her groom. Following their vows, they and guests transitioned into the reception on the lawn overlooking the lake. Hors d’oeuvres and dinner flowed along with toasts from friends and family featuring a family style dinner from Blend Catering. Guests found their seats for dinner with hand-made celebration poppers by the bride, which included paper head crowns and small treasures for each guest to enjoy during dinner; it was such a fun and festive addition and made for an extra joyful toast at dinner as guests donned their paper crowns. Following dinner guests enjoyed donuts from Doughboys Donuts and danced the night away to personal favorites like ‘3005’ by Childish Gambino. ‘It was one of my most played songs from college. When it came on everyone was so excited and started dancing and singing along, and it just really was exactly what I wanted the night to be,’ remembers Olga.
Their dreamy, unforgettable wedding that they happily shared with their family and friends is a memory they will both love and cherish for years to come. The bride remembers, ‘It wasn’t that long ago, but I can still picture the whole scene so vividly, and I hope that never changes.’ “ - Real Weddings Magazine

Nora + Tyler Featured in Bridal Guide Magazine
Nora and Tyler’s Annadel Estate Winery wedding was a joy to plan and design and we are so thrilled to see it featured in print in the May/June 2019 issue of Bridal Guide Magazine!
“Vineyards offer more than wine. Take this one: Annadel Estate Winery in Santa Rosa, California also cultivates heirloom roses and organic produce. ‘It’s in the middle of wine country, but it has a garden-like feel,’ says Lindsey Relyea, creative director of L’Relyea Events. To plan a fete at this captivating venue, Relyea followed the stylish couple’s lead.
‘The bride has this beautiful style,’ she says. ‘She pushed me to take a different approach than usual.’ To wit: an unexpected color palette in moody, sophisticated shades of slate blue, grey, and burgundy accented with dusty greens. Upon arrival, guests were escorted through a rose garden to the stone ruins of the original 1880s winery for the ceremony.” - Bridal Guide Magazine

Maggie + Clayton Featured on Style Me Pretty
We are so thrilled to share we've been featured on Style Me Pretty for Maggie + Clayton stunning outdoor wedding at the beautiful Calistoga Ranch! Their wedding featured lush greenery, gorgeous florals, unique lighting installations and details we adore!
"Inspired by their love of nature, this couple infused their Calistoga Ranch wedding with natural elements that played homage to the great outdoors along with an insanely romantic twist of course. From a chic, greenery lined aisle to elegant alfesco dining under the most insane floral + lighting installations crafted by Loop Flowers & Event Arts and planned by L'Relyea Events, this wedding is luxury meets au naturel. Get up close and personal with all the pretty details captured by The De Jaureguis." - Erin Lepperd via Style Me Pretty
"We love the outdoors, and wanted to incorporate natural elements, so we were highly inspired by different textures and colors found in nature; natural wood grains, the effects of lighting, petals/greenery/foliage. We chose our venue due to it's luxurious, natural setting. Some parts of the event come across as rustic, but I actually never thought of it that way. I prefer to think of it from the standpoint of the emotions evoked and the atmosphere that all of these elements together create. To add elegance and warmth, we included hints of cream/ivory and gold/rose gold, while featuring beautiful lighting throughout the spaces.
For the overall feel of each of the 3 locations in which our wedding events took place, we pursued a natural and lush feel: focusing on lighting and greenery. We sought to soften structures that may appear harsh aesthetically. The ceremony was in a structured tent with vines and garlands lining the cross bars, and a lovely draped garland at the altar, pooling in a grouping of ferns at the floor. The dinner took place on a lawn, with 2 long farm tables (with rose gold flatware) - hanging from the open air tent structure were custom built Edison bulb/wood plank "chandeliers" overflowing with foliage (greenery, and white flowers). Dancing took place in the wine cave, where we offered a contrast of elegant hops hanging from the more medieval style chandeliers, while 4 disco balls spun with dynamic colored lighting." - Maggie via Style Me Pretty

Megan + Brett Featured on Carats & Cake
We knew Megan + Brett's beautiful Beaulieu Gardens wedding was truly something special, so we are thrilled it is featured on Carats & Cake!
Given the stunning gardens on the estate property, we focused on embracing the property for design with a quintessential wine country estate garden wedding. Their classic and timeless style set the tone for this elegant fete slight touches of Kate Spade in modern accents of black and gold. Their ceremony was a dreamy fairy tale surrounded by lush gardens in the courtyard where guests were seated. A whispering fountain set in the center of the courtyard and the bride and groom took center stage under a natural birch arbor adorned with blooms. Guests meandered through the gardens sipping on handcrafted cocktails and champagne before retreating to the lush dining arbor for dinner. Their guests sat at long tables with crystal chandeliers overhead. Each guest had a dedicated seat with their customized menu printed.
